Dave Schafer joined the firm as a paralegal in April 2008. He is a graduate of McGill University with a degree in philosophy and political science. Dave’s strong interest in civil rights issues and progressive politics has been a driving force behind his academic studies and his work.
As an undergraduate, he focused his study on the history of political theory. He wrote his honors thesis on the concept of liberty in contemporary European philosophy. In college Dave worked for several political action committees for causes ranging from get-out-the-vote campaigns on behalf of John Kerry, to environmental protection projects aimed at upholding the emissions standards of the Clean Air Act. Before joining the firm, Dave was employed as a paralegal at a matrimonial law firm.
Dave is happy to be part of a team working to enforce civil liberties at a time when they are under attack.
